Three bay rosewood bookcase by Hansen & Guldborg, Denmark, 1960s

Description

Extremely elegant rosewood modular bookcase with four cabinets, one of the highest quality Danish mid-century rosewood wall units made by Hansen & Guldborg in the 1960s. It features brilliant carpentry and rich rosewood grain.

It consists of:

  • a cabinet with sliding doors H: 50 / W: 90 / D: 41 cm
  • Secretaire/bar cabinet with curved shelves; H: 40 / W: 90 / D: 30 cm
  • a cabinet with sliding doors with a top opening up and adjustable shelf; H: 50 / W: 90 / D: 41 cm
  • a cabinet with glass doors and adjustable shelf; H: 40 / W: 90 / D: 30 cm
  • one shelf 22 cm deep
  • one shelf 30 cm deep
  • one display shelf for magazines, comics 34,5 cm
  • 4 wooden rails 163 cm long
  • wooden supports

This beautiful bookcase is entirely modular, all the parts can be interchanged and set up upon ones will, using an easy system with wooden supports and pins placed into solid wood rails. The shown set ut is just an example ( we believe the most useful one ). We have considered that the bar cabinet can work as a smart drop front desk or can be used for both functions.

The wall unit has been checked by our team. We have made sure that all drawers and doors work properly. On many occasions, we have to sand down the most used parts (if they are scratched badly). Here we have only cleaned the wood and the original varnish was refreshed with professional compounds. We leave minor signs of use that do not spoil the aesthetic and only confirm it is originality. We try to bring furniture back to its best look, still considering they are 60 years old.

Clients from all around the world have trusted our work and its fruits. If you are new to vintage furniture, you can contact us for any possible explanations and close-ups of the piece.

Excellent condition with minor traces of use.
