Paolo Buffa (1903–1970) was born and died in Milan. He graduated in architecture from the Politecnico di Milano in 1927. He began his career in the studio of Gio Ponti and Emilio Lancia, gaining experience in designing high-end furniture and prestigious interiors. In 1935, he opened his own studio in Milan. For decades, he designed bespoke furniture for Italian aristocratic families, villas, law offices, theatres and cinemas.
