Renovated Vintage Wall Lamps and Sconces
A wall lamp is one of the most underrated light sources, yet also one of the most striking. A well-chosen vintage wall lamp transforms the entire atmosphere of a room: in the evenings, it provides a warm, atmospheric light, and during the day, it serves as a decorative feature. Our collection includes original wall lamps from the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s – the vast majority of which are Italian in origin.
Mid-Century Italian Wall Lamps - Materials and Forms
Italian mid-century modern lighting design is distinguished by its combination of noble materials and expressive forms. Our current selection of wall lamps includes pieces made of hand-blown Murano glass – including pieces by Zonca, with a distinctive spiral pattern on a brass base. Alongside them, we present wall lamps in the Stilnovo style: brass arms, lacquered aluminum shades, and the geometric proportions that made the Milanese company a symbol of Italian design in the 1950s and 1960s.
Among the designers represented in our offer, you'll find the work of Franco Albini– one of the founders of Italian Rationalism, whose wall lamps for Sirrah combine minimalist form with precise craftsmanship. The offer also includes wall lamps by Carlo Nason for Mazzega – featuring thick, iridescent panels of Murano glass on a steel frame.
Large Wall Lamps as an Alternative to Ceiling Lighting
Our collection includes large, multi-arm wall lamps – such as the 1970s models by the Milanese company Zero Quattro, which reach up to 195 cm in height with adjustable arms. This type of lighting works well in hallways, stairwells, and spaces with high ceilings where a traditional chandelier is undesirable and ceiling lighting doesn't provide enough impact.
Mid-Century Modern Wall Sconces Sold in Pairs and Sets
Most vintage wall sconces are available in pairs or sets—just as they were originally designed. Symmetrically arranging two sconces on either side of a mirror, fireplace, or painting is a classic way to create a mid-century modern interior. Each product description includes the number of pieces in the set and the dimensions of each piece.
