Description
This extremely functional mid-century modular teak wall unit with a hidden desk was designed in the 1960s by Poul Cadovius and made by his company Cado
The presented wall unit features a minimalist design, brilliant carpentry, and attention to detail, especially visible in the nicely integrated handles and beautifully woven front of one of the cabinets. Brass hangers and black color at the back of the cabinets add elegance.
The set includes one cabinet with drop-front doors, which can serve as a hidden desk. With its inner shelf for documents, laptops, and accessories, it is an excellent alternative to a traditional desk and is ideal for creating discreet home office space in your living room. One storage cabinet with dividers seems to be designed specifically for enthusiasts of vinyl records and provides a lot of storage space for favorite LPs. With the addition of a neat console with two elegant drawers and storage cavities, and 10 shelves of varying depth, this wall unit offers a versatile mix of display and storage options.
The set consists of:
- one vinyl cabinet: H: 42 / W: 80 / 38: cm (dividers 10 cm)
- one drop-front cabinet/a hidden desk: H: 42 / W: 80 / D: 438 cm (depth when fully opened: 74 cm)
- one console: H: 24 / W: 80 / D: 30 (drawers height: 10 cm)
- 3 shelves: 20 cm deep
- 6 shelves: 24 cm deep
- 1 shelf: 38 cm deep
- 4 wooden supports, each 197 cm long
- brass hangers
This shelving system is entirely modular; all parts can be interchanged and set up as desired, using an easy system with brass hangers inserted into solid wood rails. The shown setup is just an example.
The wall unit has been checked by our team and is in excellent vintage condition. All doors and drawers work properly, and all parts fit together seamlessly. We cleaned the wood with professional compounds and preserved it with Danish oil to enhance the beauty of the grain.
