Description

This captivating set of six iconic rosewood dining chairs was designed in 1964 by Niels Koefoed and produced by Danish Koefoeds Hornslet manufactory. Known as Model Eva, named for one of his daughters, the designer described the tall and graceful chair as feminine, with full hips and narrow shoulders.

The chairs are a beautiful example of mid-century modern and Scandinavian modern style. The use of solid, beautifully grained rosewood and teak, along with a slightly curved backrest, ensures that each piece retains its comfort and durability, as well as its charm and beauty. The chairs feature original upholstery made of natural wool with a weave resembling jute fabric, giving the seats a warm, classic look.

The precise, thoughtful joinery and attention to detail are evident throughout. The exquisitely made backrests with sculpted vertical slats not only add aesthetic appeal but also demonstrate the mastery of craftsmanship. The elegant, soft, organic lines and the curvature of the teak backrest and frame perfectly support the human body, making them extremely comfortable dining chairs.

These chairs would add style and class to any dining room, attracting attention with their appealing shape and the beautiful blend of warm rosewood, teak, and natural beige upholstery. Our team has taken special care to ensure a gentle restoration while maintaining the authenticity of this vintage set. The wood frames were cleaned and treated with protective oil to enhance the grain. All six chairs are in excellent vintage condition with minimal normal signs of usage and age. The manufacturer and “Danish Furniture Makers’ Quality Control” engravings confirm the authenticity of the set as well as its highest quality and uniqueness.
