Danish Royal free standing wall unit in walnut designed by Poul Cadovius in the 1960s.
It stands on solid teak support legs with precise joinery joints in a unique skid shape. It is an entirely modular system that one can freely arrange according to ones taste. A four drawers geometrical dresser, a console with two drawers, and two shelves for storing books, accessories, or plants provide functionality. Furthermore, the brass holders of the shelves create elegant, beautiful visual appearance, which distinguishes a Danish style in the mid-century modern design.
This wall unit consists of:
- a chest (H: 42 /W: 80 /D: 36) of 3 drawers with internal height: top drawer: 6 cm, middle drawer: 10 cm, lower drawer: 14 cm
- a console (H: 15 /W: 80 /D: 30) with two drawers with internal heigh: 10 cm
- two shelves 30 cm deep
- two support legs 197 cm long
- brass hardware
This piece is in very good original condition with only very few signs of age-related wear, with patina on the brass and oiled finish, which helps to nourish and enhance the wood grain. The rails have been remade according to the original ones that got damaged.
