Elevate ambiance with our exquisite mid-century lighting: vintage Italian and Danish lamps. Discover timeless designs for a captivating space.
Vintage Lighting
Lighting transforms a room more than any other piece of furniture. A well-chosen period lamp can give a room a character unmatched by any modern equivalent. Our collection features original vintage lamps from the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s — primarily of Italian and Danish origin.
Each lamp comes to us as a unique piece with its own history. Our team carefully restores it: cleaning, inspecting the wiring, and — where necessary — restoring its original shine, while maintaining the patina and authenticity sought after by collectors.
What will you find in our selection of Mid-Century Modern lighting?
The collection includes a variety of lamps suited to various applications:
- Vintage pendant lamps, chandeliers, and ceiling lamps – from minimalist Scandinavian pendants to multi-arm Italian brass and Murano glass chandeliers.
- Vintage wall lamps and sconces – ideal as spotlights or decorative lighting in living rooms, bedrooms, and hallways.
- Vintage floor lamps – standalone decorative elements that illuminate a lounge or reading area.
- Vintage table and desk lamps – from classic office lamps to organic, space-age forms.
Designers and manufacturers in our collection of vintage Mid-Century Modern lamps
We carefully select lamps bearing names that defined 20th-century design. Our current offerings regularly feature works by designers such as:
- Poul Henningsen lamps – creator of the legendary PH series for the Danish manufacturer Louis Poulsen. His multi-layered shade system, which diffuses light without glare, revolutionized lighting design. Our offerings include the PH5 and PH Snowball lamps.
- Jo Hammerborg lamps – chief designer of the Danish company Fog & Mørup, author of over 100 lamp models. His designs, such as the Studio and Hercules series, combine geometric simplicity with the warm glow of brass.
- Verner Panton lamps – a visionary of Danish design, creator of the iconic Panthella lamp (1971) manufactured by Louis Poulsen. Organic, futuristic forms in acrylic and plastic distinguish his works from other lamps of the era.
- Gaetano Sciolari lamps – a representative of Italian modernism, known for his geometric chandeliers in chrome and brass.
Among Italian manufacturers, Stilnovo holds a special place – a Milanese company founded in 1946, valued for its chandeliers combining brass, lacquered metal, and opaline glass with teak elements.
Why original vintage lighting?
Lamps from the Mid-Century Modern era are more than just a current light source. They are collector's items that increase in value over time. Original pieces – unlike modern replicas – offer authentic materials (hand-blown Murano glass, brass with a noble patina, teak), craftsmanship, and a unique character resulting from decades of history.
Every vintage lamp in our store is an original. We verify provenance, check manufacturer labels, and document condition with detailed descriptions and photos. We ship worldwide, carefully packaging to ensure the lamp arrives in the same condition it left our warehouse.
