Description

Minimalist yet elegant, this corner rosewood foldable daybed or a sofa in Ejvind A. Johansson style made in Denmark during the 1960s. Crafted beautifully from orange-reddish hue rosewood, it adds a warm touch to any type of interior. The side panels, with their gently rounded corners, not only keep the mattresses in a stable position but also highlights the richness of the wood. The black leather quilted upholstery covering mattresses and pillows, perfectly harmonizes with the wooden frame, creating a timeless design.

The thoughtful construction of the piece makes it very multifunctional. It can serve as a corner sofa, a daybed for daytime naps, or, thanks to its retractable cushions and folding design, transform into a full-size bed for sleeping. It will be indispensable when the party extends and your guests want to stay a little bit longer, as the folding mechanism requires only a few movements. Simply pull out the bed frame and lay the pillows stored in the hidden compartment on it.

Due to its construction and technical solutions, such as brass pins and the construction of wooden backrests, we believe it was designed by Ejvind A. Johansson. His designs reflected the Danish ethos of simplicity, craftsmanship, and functional elegance, all of which are undoubtedly visible in this piece.

The bed is in excellent vintage condition, with a stable frame and smoothly working folding mechanisms. The wood has been refreshed with professional compounds. Originally, there were two backrest cushions, but upon special request, we can provide an additional one.
