Paolo Buffa
Master of Elegant Mid-Century Italian Furniture
Paolo Buffa (1903–1970) was a Milanese furniture designer celebrated for blending neoclassical richness with Art Deco refinement. A former collaborator of Gio Ponti, Buffa developed a signature style that appealed to Italy’s elite, combining luxurious woods like rosewood with modern silhouettes and fine Lombard craftsmanship. His postwar work embraced cleaner lines and innovative production, making him one of the most sought-after Italian designers of the mid-20th century. Today, Buffa’s creations are prized for their timeless sophistication and artisanal quality.
