Description
This exquisite set of two high ladder back Chiavari chairs are a little newer version of chairs designed by the esteemed Italian designer Paolo Buffa in Italy during the 1950s.
They were most likely made in the 1970s and have some small differences with originals.
They still embodied the meticulous craftsmanship and sophisticated aesthetic that defined Buffa’s work.
The chairs feature a high ladder back design, a hallmark of Buffa’s attention to form and function. The frames are impressively sculpted, highlighting the exquisite work of skilled craftsmen. The slender, elegant lines are both visually striking and structurally robust, reflecting the high standards of Italian furniture making during this period.
They are made out of mahogany wood finished with lacquer.
The original upholstery remains intact, featuring a classic pattern of green, red, and beige stripes. This fabric choice not only enhances the visual appeal of the chairs but also offers a glimpse into the popular color palettes of mid-century interior design.
Both chairs are beautifully preserved, showing almost no signs of the passage of time. We were truly impressed by their perfect condition.
