Description
Extremely functional modular wall system designed in the 1960s by Poul Cadovius for his company Cado. Made from teak wood and teak veneer—materials known for their warm color, durability, and longevity—it is built to last for many more decades. The variety of components offers a versatile mix of display and storage options.
One cabinet is designed specifically for enthusiasts of vinyl records. It provides plenty of storage space for favorite LPs, and the top is perfect for a gramophone, but it can also be used for magazines, comic books, or documents. A second cabinet with compartments will allow for organised storage of smaller items, while a cabinet with glass doors will protect books or ceramics from dust. The set of adjustable shelves allows for the display of personal items like photos or art, regardless of size.
Its modularity allows for flexible configuration. The arrangement of the shelves and cabinets can be easily changed. The assembly system is simple and intuitive, with components mounted on solid wood rails using brass hangers, metal pins and dowels.
The set includes:
- a vinyl records cabinet: H: 51 / W: 80 / D: 40 cm (width of individual compartments: 12 cm)
- a cabinet with inner compartments: H: 51 / W: 80 / D: 40 cm
- a cabinet with glass doors: H: 33 / W: 80 / D: 30 cm
- 7 shelves: W: 80 / D: 20 cm
- 2 shelves: W: 80 / D: 30 cm
- 4 teak montage rails, each 200 cm long
- brass hangers, pins and furniture dowels
The wall unit has been fully renovated. All the wood has been cleaned and re-coated with layers of Danish oil, which enhances the grain and its natural beauty. The brass hangers are in original condition. The ‘Made in Denmark’ engraving on the back of the shelves and confirms the authenticity of the furniture’s origin.
