The vintage teak chair with black vinyl upholstery closely resembles Erik Kirkegaard’s design from the 1960s. It is a classic example of Danish design combining perfect proportions with an elegant look. The frame structure is made of solid teak with perfectly crafted joints. And this is the carpentry that really distinguish it from other chairs.

Vinyl upholstery played a significant role in mid-century design aesthetics, particularly during the post-World War II era through the 1950s and 1960s. During this time, advancements in chemical engineering and manufacturing processes led to the development of more durable and versatile vinyl materials suitable for upholstery purposes. Back then, many renowned designers have chosen to incorporate vinyl upholstery into their iconic projects as a symbol of modernity, technological advancement, and functionality.
