Description
An elegant Poul Cadovius two-bay wall unit with a desk and cabinet, designed for Cado in the 1960s, is an excellent alternative to a traditional desk and ideal for a home office space. It can be placed in a bedroom or a living room, saving space and providing a remote working area. The piece is a fine example of Danish carpentry from the mid-century era and is considered of the highest quality.
This stunning modular wall unit features six stylish shelves with “made in Denmark” engraved on them, three rails; with one of them featuring original manufacturer engraving ” made in Denmark”, one writing desk with drawers and one elegant cabinet. Furthermore, there is an original manufacturer’s paper sticker on the back of one desk drawers. This is quite an achievement considering the age of this unit.
The writing desk features two elegantly integrated drawers, allowing for convenient storage of office work items.
The set includes one cabinet, or a secretaire with drop-front doors, which can serve as a hidden desk or as an elegant bar. With its inner shelf for documents and accessories, it is an excellent alternative to a traditional desk and is ideal for creating discreet home office space in your living room. On the other hand, the black rear panel together with one large teak shelf make it an elegant place to store drinks.
Typical of Cadovius’s design, the front is ornamented with thin teak strips, which are found in most of his wall units, as well as in pieces like the Governor sofa. It is made in teak wood with brass hardware and solid wood rails. In addition, the rails have metal fittings for the holes used to attach the hangers.
Each element is 80 cm wide, and one can arrange all the parts by one will.
The wall unit consists of:
- one desk shelf 9cm high/ 80 cm wide/ 37 cm deep with 2 drawers internal height 5 cm
- one cabinet H: 51/ W: 80 /D: 40 cm with one internal shelf
- two shelves 20 cm deep
- two shelves 24 cm deep
- two shelves 30 cm deep
- tree rails 200 cm long
- brass hardware
