Pair of Kai Kristiansen cabinets with inner drawers, or two parts sideboard in teak for Feldballes, Denmark 1960s
Description
Vintage pair of minimalist cabinets with sliding doors designed by Kai Kristiansen in the 1960s for Feldballes. They show mastery of Danish mid-century craftsmanship in beautifully joint wood and diligently selected teak veneer. Sliding doors open the functional interior with four green baize-lined trays on the right side and an adjustable height shelf on the left. Slim, tapered solid teak legs (detachable for convenient transport) provide elegant, light touch, typical for Scandinavian mid-century modern design. It will provide functional storage space in the dining or living area. They can be separated and be used as two completely independent pieces.
The cabinets are in great original condition, we have made sure that doors and drawers work properly. The wood has been rejuvenated with Danish oil layers. We leave minor signs of use that do not spoil the aesthetic and only confirm it is originality. We try to bring it back to its best look, still considering it is 60 years old.
