This rosewood wall unit, designed by Kai Kristiansen for FM Møbler and crafted in the 1960s, is a stunning example of Danish mid-century modern design that serves as a functional and elegant storage solution. The luxurious rosewood veneer, with its rich grain and deep warm tones, gives the wall unit a distinctive, high-end look. Attention to detail is evident in the sleek edges, beautifully sculpted solid wood handles, precise joinery, and the elegant method of attaching the shelves and cabinets.

The system includes six shelves of varying depths and two spacious cabinets equipped with handy internal shelves and drawers, perfect for organizing smaller items while maintaining a clean, minimalist look. The wall unit is mounted on vertical wall-mounted metal rails, allowing the components to be adjusted according to personal needs and spatial requirements. This design highlights Kristiansen’s focus on flexibility and function without sacrificing aesthetic appeal. The rails are also veneered in rosewood, further complementing its elegant look. The use of high-quality materials and the versatile mix of display and storage options make the wall unit ideal for living rooms or offices where both aesthetics and organization are crucial.

Despite the passage of six decades, the wall unit remains in excellent original condition. The wood has been refreshed with professional compounds. This piece features a producer’s sticker at the back of the cabinet, marked with “FM Møbler,” ensuring the piece’s origin and authenticity.
