Description

This extraordinary Italian mid-century free-standing wall unit in teak and rosewood, designed and manufactured in the 1960s, perfectly embodies the timeless design of the era.

Stylish and roomy, the wall unit features four impressively spacious cabinets, one of which can serve as a bar cabinet for a sizable collection of spirits and glasses; a dresser with 6 drawers for organized storage of smaller items; and 5 deep shelves that provide ample room for displaying books and pictures.

Despite the size of the cabinets, the large spaces between the components prevent the unit from appearing overwhelmed. Additionally, it provides ample space for larger decorations, plants and sculptures.

Magnificent carpentry in teak wood and elegant rosewood details adorn this piece. Beautifully inlayed ends of drawers and sharply contrasting dark rosewood handles add contrast and dimension.

Solid wood side panels, finished in a nice “V” shape provide stability and add lightness to the piece.

The wall unit has been completely restored. We’ve made sure that all mechanisms, montage systems and drawers work properly and smoothly. Wood has been stripped with professional compounds. and fisished with layers of oil. There are couple of inlays in the wooden rails and the interiors of cabinets have been left with original finish but cleaned. The cabinets can be interchanged, but the set up of the shelves is unchangeable.

The set consists of:

  • 3 cabinets: H 40/ W: 78.5/ D: 42 cm
  • 1 dresser H: 40/ W: 78.5/ D: 42 cm (internal depth of 6 drawers: 10 cm)
  • 1 bar cabinet: H: 40/ W: 78.5/ D: 42 (depth when fully open: 80 cm)
  • 5 shelves W: 78.5/ D: 37 cm
  • 4 side panels: 215 cm each
