Description
This functional large freestanding wall unit is a true example of Scandinavian mid-century design at its best. It is an entirely modular shelving and storage system called “Ergo de lux” which was designed by John Texmon for Blindheim Mobelfabrikk and made in Norway in the 1960s.
The combination of shelves, expository vinyl records or plate shelf, plant shelf and wide cabinet with sliding doors and drawers offers a versatile mix of display and storage options, making it ideal for living rooms or dining rooms where both aesthetics and organization are crucial. Very interesting plant shelf makes this Norwegian piece really rare and unique.
The design of this wall unit allows you to adjust each component according to your needs. Ergo features an exceptionally elegant assembly system. The holes in the rails are beautifully shaped, enabling an intuitive arrangement of components in any configuration. Each of the parts can be placed lower or higher. You can also interchange them if you like to.

Black containers are not from the 1960s but correspond to the original ones that were broken. The “Made in Norway” stamp on the back of the dresser confirms the authenticity of the piece. The drawers, doors, and mounting mechanism function properly and smoothly. The wood has been cleaned with professional compounds and finished with layers of Danish oil to enhance the beauty of the grain. Overall, this set is in fantastic vintage condition.
