Description
A minimalist home office wall system in the style of iconic projects of Danish designers like Poul Cadovius, or Kai Kristiansen, pioneers of modular furniture. Its space-saving design makes it perfect for small apartments, or a bedroom. It seems to be designed specifically for enthusiasts of vinyl records. One cabinet provides plenty of storage space for favorite LPs, and the top is perfect for a gramophone, but it can be also used for magazines, comic books, or documents. This wall unit is made from teak wood and teak veneer, materials widely used in Denmark in mid 20th century.
Its modularity allows for flexible configuration. Even in this compact set, the arrangement of the shelves and the cabinet can be easily changed. The assembly system is simple and intuitive, with components mounted on solid wood rails using brass hangers and metal pins. Using four short rails instead of two long ones increases the arrangement possibilities, allowing for both horizontal and diagonal layouts.
The set includes:
- a vinyl records cabinet: H: 40 / W: 80 / D: 37 cm (width of individual compartments: 14 cm)
- 4 shelves: W: 80 / D: 20 cm
- 4 teak montage rails, each 100 cm long
The wall unit has been upcycled through a thorough renovation, combining old and new parts to revive the shelving system. All the wood has been sanded down, coated with stain applied for a uniform look, and finished with layers of Danish oil. If necessary, damaged veneer is replaced to enhance the appearance. The rails have been redone according to the original design, and the hardware has been polished. Short rails make shipping easier and more cost-effective.
