Description
This Danish mid-century secretaire with a hidden desk, crafted in the 1960s, seamlessly combines functionality with elegance. It closely resembles designs produced by Korinth Møbelfabrik, though no maker’s mark has been preserved. Whether or not it was made by KM, the secretaire is crafted with the precision and attention to detail characteristic of Danish craftsmanship. Its remarkable quality is evident in the dovetail joints of the drawers, a technique of wood joining rarely seen in contemporary furniture. Made from teak wood and teak veneer—materials known for their warm color, durability, and longevity—it is built to last for many more decades.
Beyond its beautiful exterior, the secretaire offers impressive functionality. The desk slides out to reveal a spacious writing surface, perfect for journaling or working from home. The chest of drawers features sleek bar-style handles, and the topmost drawer can be locked with a key—ideal for storing important documents or valuables. The upper section includes various storage compartments, ranging from small drawers to open shelves and partitions, providing both organization and versatility. This beautifully crafted piece of furniture will not only create a cozy workspace but also blend effortlessly into any interior.
Despite the passage of nearly six decades, this piece remains in perfect original condition. The drawers are clean and operate smoothly, and the wood has been treated with professional compounds to enhance its natural beauty.
