Description
Extremely elegant rosewood wall unit designed by Poul Cadovius for Cado in the 1960s. The simple, angular silhouette with almost no ornamentation or embellishments makes it a perfect addition to any type of interior. This simplicity is paired with perfect carpentry and beautiful, profound rosewood grain.
Overall size is H: 194 / W: 164 / D: 48 cm.
The choice of rosewood, which is one of the most expensive and rare woods, makes it a standout piece also for the most luxurious apartments. The nicely integrated, nearly invisible handles sculpted in solid wood, along with the sleek, frame-like profile surrounding the drawers and cabinets, are characteristic of Cadovius’ designs. All the drawers are made with dovetail joinery.
The variety of components offers a versatile mix of display and storage options. Adjustable shelves allow for the display of personal items or art, regardless of size, and two different cabinets give an option to hide your personal goods.
This wall system is fully modular, offering a variety of configuration options to suit your needs. The assembly system is simple and intuitive, with shelves mounted on solid wood rails using solid rosewood brackets.
The set includes:
- a dresser: H: 51 / W: 80 / D: 46 cm (internal height of the drawers, starting from the top: 7 cm, 7 cm, 11 cm, 14 cm)
- a sliding doors cabinet: H: 51 / W: 80 / D: 46 cm (internal height of the drawers 7 cm)
- 6 shelves: 30 cm depth
- 3 rosewood montage rails, each 194 cm long
- solid rosewood brackets
Despite the passage of nearly six decades, this piece remains in perfect original condition. The drawers are clean and operate smoothly, and the wood has been cleaned and treated with professional compounds to enhance its natural beauty. The engraving “Made in Denmark” located on the back of the shelves confirms the authenticity of the furniture’s origin. The original “Kontrol nummer” label has been preserved on the cabinet.
We have over 200 Danish shelves from the mid-20th century. We offer them in various sets. If you are looking for other types of wood or a larger unit, please visit our website or let us know.
