This very rare 1960s rosewood wall unit was crafted by Sven Andersen Møbelfabrikk, a prominent Norwegian furniture manufacturer and one of Norway’s largest and most modern furniture factories by the 1950s.
The designs from Sven Andersen frequently exhibit a combination of sleek, geometric lines and practical features, aligning with the principles of Scandinavian design, which is clearly evident in this particular wall unit. This bookcase was designed to be both aesthetically pleasing and highly functional. The use of a rare combination of rich grain two-colored rosewood and light-hued cane provides both a durable finish and a warm vintage touch. Attention to detail is evident throughout, from the slightly carved shelves and cabinets’ edges to the nicely sculpted handles, precisely woven cane, and geometrical carpentry joints—all showcasing the artistry of Scandinavian craftsmen.
This modular wall unit features a combination of open shelving and closed cabinets, allowing for versatile storage and display options. The addition of a compact desk makes the piece a perfect alternative to traditional desks, creating a discreet and fully functional space for a home office.

Since all components measure 80 cm in width, they can be arranged according to one’s needs and can be placed lower, higher, or interchanged. The presented arrangement is just an example. The shelves and cabinets are mounted using a unique system of metal pins and hooks, making the joints invisible and aesthetically pleasing.
Our team has checked the wall unit and ensured that the components fit together and the doors work smoothly and properly. The wood has been cleaned and protected with layers of protective oil. Despite the passage of time, the wall unit remains in excellent original condition.
To fully enjoy the functionality of the furniture, we recommend mounting it to the wall.
