Renovated Vintage Storage Furniture
Cabinets, chests of drawers, and bureaus are the foundation of any mid-century modern interior – furniture available in understated, elegant forms. Our collection features original storage furniture from the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s, crafted primarily from teak, rosewood, and walnut. The latest editions come from Denmark and Scandinavia, but we also feature Italian and German pieces.
Renovated Sideboards and Chests of Drawers – Teak, Rosewood, and Walnut
Renovated mid-century modern sideboards and chests of drawers constitute the largest group in our collection. Danish sideboards from the 1960s feature a distinctive combination of sliding doors (often with inlaid handles) and distinctive compartments. Designers represented in our selection include Kai Kristiansen, the creator of iconic teak living furniture for FM Møbler, and Severin Hansen, whose rosewood desks and sideboards are prized for their meticulous detailing.
Our collection includes compact 3-drawer models (ideal as bedside tables or hallway furniture) and full-size chests of drawers with 6 or more drawers. Many Danish chests of drawers feature hidden features, such as a glossy pull-out dressing table built into the top drawer.
Renovated Office and Writing Desks - Mid-Century Workplace
Vintage desks from the 1960s are pieces of furniture designed for work, but with an eye for form that's hard to find in contemporary production. Our storage options include a teak wall-mounted desk set designed by Kai Kristiansen for FM Møbler – a cable-stayed unit with a wall-mounted shelf. Next to it are freestanding executive desks with networked drawers on both sides, as well as a bureau tucked into the front – compact cable furniture with a chest of drawers in one piece.
Renovated Mid-Century Modern Dressing Tables and Nightstands
Scandinavian dressing tables from the 1960s for accessories connected to a dresser with a mirror – the most common, mounted on brass switches. Our offer includes both Danish and Norwegian pieces. Nightstands are compact teak cabinets with one or two drawers, perfect for a vintage-style bedroom.
How do we renovate Mid-Century Modern storage furniture?
Sideboards, dressers, and desks are renovated with the usual attention to the mechanisms – drawers must slide smoothly, doors slide smoothly, and locks and switches must be in working order. We clean, sand, and seal the countertops and fronts with varnish or oil, restoring the natural grain of the wood. We clean and refresh the interiors of drawers and storage compartments. In the description of each product we provide full dimensions, type of wood, drawers/compartments and information about the condition of the device.
