Ico et Luisa Parisi
Icons of Mid-Century Italian Modernism
Ico and Luisa Parisi were a visionary designer couple who shaped postwar Italian modernism through architecture, furniture, and decorative arts. Trained under Giuseppe Terragni and Gio Ponti, they founded Studio La Ruota in Como in 1948, blending artistic abstraction with functional design. Their sculptural furniture, including iconic models like the 813 Uovo chair and 691 for Cassina, earned international acclaim and Compasso d’Oro nominations. Their work remains a hallmark of organic elegance and Italian design innovation.
