Marco Zanuso

Pioneer of Italian Modernism and Industrial Design

Marco Zanuso (1916–2001) was a leading figure in postwar Italian design, known for merging modernist aesthetics with technological innovation. A Milanese architect and designer, he helped shape industrial design through iconic collaborations with Richard Sapper, creating classics like the Brionvega “Cube” radio, Algol TV, and Kartell’s 4999/S chair. His groundbreaking furniture for Arflex, including the Lady Chair and Sleep-o-matic sofa, earned multiple design awards and defined the modern Italian style.
