This extremely functional Italian bookcase will elegantly fill an entire wall, allowing you not only to display an extensive collection of books, art, or personal items, but also to serve as a highlight in itself. It clearly draws inspiration from modular wall systems designed by Italian architect and designer Franco Albini, as seen in the freestanding structure and shelving support mechanisms. The triangular brackets holding the shelves in place echo Albini’s architectural background and his tendency to blend functional and decorative structural elements.
Albini’s work is also known for its minimalist approach, reducing forms to their essential components, which is evident in this piece. Thin vertical supports hold up horizontal shelves, giving the unit a sense of lightness and transparency. The combination of high-quality teak wood and teak veneer with metal accents creates a warm, natural feel, balanced by a touch of industrial modernity. Additionally, adjustable brass feet provide stability on uneven floors.
This wall unit is completely modular, meaning it can be reconfigured according to your needs. The shelving and cabinet positions can be easily changed thanks to an intuitive assembly system.
Despite the passage of time, the wall unit is in excellent original vintage condition.
