Description
Simple yet elegant, fully renovated mid-century shelving system probably made in Denmark in the 1970s. This bookcase features six shelves and one cabinet with sliding doors and inner shelf. Shelves arranged alternately, add lightness and create a visually dynamic and interesting look. This wall unit showcases the iconic mid-century aesthetic – a combination of carefully selected materials, great craftsmanship, and beautiful minimalist design. The warm brown hue of the wood and precisely sculpted solid teak handles enhance the visual appeal of the set.
Shelves are mounted with black metal hangers on solid wood rails and they can be placed lower or higher using regularly placed slots in the rails. Moreover, it is possible to position the longer edge of the shelf either outside or inside the rails. All of this makes the piece not only stylish but also functional.
The unit consists of:
- 6 shelves: W: 73 / D: 20 cm
- 1 cabinet with sliding doors: H: 35/ W: 88 / D: 31 cm
- 3 solid wood rails (200 cm each)
- metal brackets
The wall unit has been upcycled. We use old and new parts to revive the units that are incomplete, or severely damaged. All the wood is being sanded down, and we apply coats of stain to uniform the look. Later we finish it with Danish oil. If necessary we replace the damaged veneer, also for a better look. The rails are redone according to the originals.
