Scandinavian mid-century teak wall unit in the style of Poul Cadovius, Denmark 1960s
Description
An impressive shelving system inspired by the iconic modular designs of the 1960s by Poul Cadovius and Kai Kristiansen. This piece of furniture will elegantly fill an entire wall, offering ample storage space.
Made entirely from teak wood and teak veneer, a material highly valued for its durability, longevity and warm color. Whether you’re a bookworm with a large collection or need more space for photos, decorations, or plants, this wall unit will solve your problem. Attached to the wall, it takes up minimal space and, thanks to its minimalist design, does not feel overwhelming. Additionally, this shelving system is fully modular, offering a variety of configurations to suit your needs. The assembly system is simple and intuitive, with shelves and cabinets mounted on solid wood rails using black varnished metal hangers. The shown setup is just one example.
The system consists:
- 1 cabinets: H: 56/ W: 80 / D: 24 cm
- 8 shelves: W: 80 / D: 20
- 3 wooden rails, each 200 cm long
The wall unit has been upcycled through a thorough renovation, combining old and new parts to revive the shelving system. All the wood has been sanded down, coated with stain applied for a uniform look, and finished with layers of Danish oil. If necessary, damaged veneer is replaced to enhance the appearance. The shelves come from various units and old holes were pegged in with decorative solid teak pegs.
