Description
This refined Danish teak wall unit, designed by Kai Kristiansen for FM Møbler, comes from the 1960s. It perfectly captures the essence of mid-century Scandinavian design—clean lines, functional elegance, and exceptional craftsmanship. Executed in rich teak veneer, the system combines lightness of form with practical versatility.
The composition includes a console with four drawers and five teak shelves mounted on two brown-painted metal rails. The drawers feature Kristiansen’s signature sculpted handles, seamlessly integrated into the front design, highlighting both precision and simplicity. The overall balance of proportion and materials makes this piece an enduring example of Danish modern design at its finest. Shelves are mounted with metal hangers, and they can be placed lower or higher using regularly placed slots in the rails. This set will add some mid-century style to the office, living room, or any other type of interior.
A closer look at the console’s top surface reveals subtle white residues within the wood grain, likely a trace of the whiter paint on it. This is hardly visible from a distance and does not detract from the overall visual impression of the piece—instead, they add a quiet sense of history and character.
