Description
This completely modular Scandinavian mid-century modern wall unit in teak, model “Ergo,” was designed by John Texmon and Einar Blindheim for Blindheim Mobelfabrikk in the 1960s. Made in Norway, this piece showcases the elegance and functionality characteristic of mid-century Scandinavian design
The shelf, desk-shelf and glass vitrine with inner shelve provide enough space for exposing decorations. The vitrine can also be used as a bookcase, protecting books from dust. The compact desk, suitable for laptop or reading, creates a nice, discreet working space. 130 cm rails composed of two pieces each provide various possibilities of arrangement. The large desk-shelf can also be placed lower and thus one can expose large items like vases, etc.
Besides the functional advantages, the unit becomes a decoration on the wall.
The system is entirely modular, allowing one to arrange the components as needed. The shown setup is just an example.
The set consists of:
- One glass cabinet: H: 43 cm / W: 78.5 cm / D: 23 cm
- One shelf: 22 cm deep / W: 78.5 cm
- One desk shelf: 42 cm deep / W: 78.5 cm
- Two teak rail supports (legs): 130 cm high
Our team has checked the wall unit. It is in excellent vintage condition. We refreshed the wood with professional compounds and a Danish oil finish. A cabinet has the stamp “Made in Norway”, validating its origin.
We leave minor signs of use that do not spoil the aesthetic and only confirm its originality. We try to bring furniture back to its best look, still considering they are 60 years old.
