Description
The mid-century teak bed, made in the 1960s by Danish manufacturer Sidelmann Jakobsen A/S, is a splendid example of the era’s design ethos. This piece features a sturdy teak frame in two shades. Darker wood shows the solid teak parts, while lighter is covered in teak veneer, both showcasing warm tones and a smooth grain.
The meticulously crafted headboard and back frame speak for themselves; the wood has been expertly carved and joined, with no visible screws, ensuring a seamless look. The medium-height construction offers excellent support and comfort for your back while lounging or reading. The entire wooden structure is built to last for decades, providing enduring comfort, and the assembly of the side panels is simple and intuitive.
The original spring frame is in excellent condition and, despite the passage of time, still performs its function. The wooden frame has been cleaned and treated with protective oil to enhance the grain. All visible signs of aging, such as the patina on the metal frame, are entirely natural and do not detract from its aesthetic. The authenticity of the bed’s origin is confirmed by the manufacturer’s emblem attached to the frame.
Please note that the bed does not come with a mattress. The recommended mattress dimensions are 85 cm by 190 cm, with a height of at least 10 cm for proper comfort.
We can provide the old mattress that we have, but it is not very comfortable, in fact it is much used. We can also help you to make or find a new mattress.
ground clearance: 19 cm
