Small Danish mid century rosewood table with hidden extensions, 1960s
Small Danish mid century rosewood table with hidden extensions, 1960s
Description
Very small and versatile dining table closely resembles the Model 145 dining table by Willy Sigh, produced by H. Sigh & Søn Møbelfabrik in Denmark in the 1960s. It features an ingenious extension mechanism, with additional leaves that slide out smoothly from underneath the main tabletop, allowing for effortless adjustments.
The most interesting feature of this table is the compact dimensions. It is only 100cm long and 70cm wide, with two extension leaves, each 42cm, making it petite yet simple to extend the table for larger gatherings or retract it to its compact size, ideal for everyday use in a smaller apartment’s dining room or kitchen.
The tabletop is adorned with a luxurious rosewood veneer, highlighting stunning natural grain patterns that add warmth and sophistication to the design. The edges of the table are crafted from solid wood, not only reinforcing the structure but also framing the veneer beautifully, creating a striking visual effect. Designed with smaller interiors in mind, this table offers a perfect balance of practicality and elegance, making it suitable for both intimate spaces and larger dining areas.
The table has been fully renovated with new lacquer on the top. It is in perfect ready-to-use condition.
