Danish mid century teak round extension table, 1960s
Danish mid century teak round extension table, 1960s
Popis
This round mid-century dining table is the epitome of Danish modernism. It is fuctional and versitile. It features two inner leaves, one of which features an apron that blends seamlessly with the rest of the table. A wide apron conceals metal extension mechanism. Each leaf is 49 cm, allowing the table to extend to a total length of 221 cm.
The second leaf has a slightly different teak grain, but this was always an extra option in Danish homes of that time. Most homes were small and did not require extensions up to 200 cm, so the second leaf was entirely optional.
The tabletop’s surface is veneered in natural teak. The nicely sculpted legs, crafted from solid teak wood, seamlessly merge with the curved apron beneath the tabletop, creating a cohesive and sturdy design. Teak wood, highly valued during the mid-century modern era, is renowned for its durability, warm tones, and subtle yet distinctive grain patterns.
The table is in great condition. The tabletop has been treated with a new protective lacquer, ensuring its surface is safeguarded and ready to provide years of use. It’s a stylish and functional addition to any dining room, perfect for everyday use and larger gatherings with family and friends. The additional leaves do not retract inside.
Další rozměry:
- height to the apron: 64 cm
- width of additional leaves: 49 cm each
